In the Lublin region there is a mix of many various cultures, which causes the folk art to be very diverse here. It can be seen in the example of architecture where almost all types of cottages and roofs can be found. Inside the cottage the most distinctive element is the painted chest. The most beautiful ones come from the area of Biłgoraj. The houses were decorated with paper cutouts and pictures painted on glass. Folk costumes are very diverse in this region. The most elaborate are the ones from the area of Krzczonów, they are richly embroidered and decorated. The most popular branch of folk art in this region is pottery. Among the produced items are “siwaki” (type of pottery jug), red glazed pots decorated with smooth ornamentation. The most famous site known for its beautiful pottery is Łążek Ordynacki. As the last thing it is important to mention Lublin Easter eggs which are much different from those in other regions thanks to their colourful motifs.
