The “speciality” of this region are painted domestic utensils, chests, cupboards (called “szebląg” or “tobryt”), wardrobes and cradles. Paintings on the utensils are in the form of flowered ornamentation put against a reddish, blue or green background. The people from Kaszuby created their own type of paintings on glass where the flowered ornamentation was dominating. Kaszuby pottery (bowls, plates, mugs) was decorated with colourful coating and paint ornamentation. This pottery was characterised by its unique form. The region of Kaszuby and Pomorze is also known for its wattle products made from both wicker and straw. Snuff-boxes and tobbacco horns were typical of this region. This region is also famous for its sculpture with mainly religious themes and cribs. Kaszuby embroidery is made with many different colours and is often placed on silk.
